The leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has filed a N60 billion suit against Reno Omokri, a vocal supporter of President Bola Tinubu, at the Enugu State High Court, accusing him of publishing defamatory and prejudicial statements. In the writ of summons, Kanu is seeking N50 billion in general damages for alleged injury to reputation, emotional distress, and prejudice to ongoing judicial proceedings, and an additional N10 billion in aggravated damages, citing what the suit describes as “malicious and reckless publication of false statements” by Omokri. A chieftain of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, Dino Melaye, has said that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is rescuing Nigeria from the “satanic manifestation” of the All Progressives Congress (APC). Melaye said Atiku is bringing great minds together to correct the wrongs done to Nigeria by the APC‑led government.
