The Unmatched Record – Dapo Abiodun Delivers Where Others Only Promise
In just six years, Governor Dapo Abiodun has transformed Ogun State and especially Ogun East with visible, life-changing projects under his ISEYA agenda.
He has rebuilt hundreds of kilometres of roads across Sagamu, Ikenne, Ijebu-Ode, Remo and Ijebu North, connecting farms to markets and easing movement to Lagos. He has delivered solar-powered health centres, renovated technical colleges, distributed modern farm machinery, and empowered thousands of women and youths with direct grants and skills training.
Ogun’s internally generated revenue has soared, maternal mortality has dropped, and President Bola Tinubu openly calls Abiodun’s performance “a model for Nigeria.” Multiple national and international awards — Forbes Best of Africa Governor (Industrial Revolution), The Sun Governor of the Year, and Governor of the Year in Education — confirm that Abiodun is a doer, not a talker.
As Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum and a trusted ally of the President, he already possesses the national clout, networks and respect that Ogun East desperately needs in Abuja.
Gbenga Daniel’s Tenure – Drama, Disloyalty and Disappointment
Since 2023, Senator Gbenga Daniel has spent more time fighting Governor Abiodun and the APC than representing Ogun East.
He was indefinitely suspended by his own Sagamu Ward and the state APC for anti-party activities and refusing to support the governor’s re-election. Instead of building bridges, he manufactures crises: accusing the state government of sabotaging his constituency projects (when the real issue is his refusal to follow due process), skipping stakeholders’ meetings, and turning every minor issue into a media war.
His senatorial scorecard is almost empty — no major bill, no significant attraction of federal projects, and no visible empowerment programmes in the district. While Abiodun is commissioning roads and job centres, Daniel is allegedly sponsoring PDP proxies to destabilise the same APC that brought him to the Senate. Contractors now avoid Ogun East projects because of the “Gbenga Daniel risk factor.”
History repeats itself: the same way his 2003–2011 governorship was defined by endless fights with the House of Assembly, traditional rulers and even his deputy, his current Senate seat is defined by division instead of development.
2027 – The Clear Choice for Progress
Ogun East cannot afford another four years of distraction, bitterness and stagnation.
In 2027, we have the rare opportunity to replace noise with competence, vendetta with vision, and a divisive past with a proven present. Governor Dapo Abiodun has finished his constitutionally allowed two terms with honour; sending him to the Senate is the perfect elevation for a performer who still has so much to offer.
He will lobby for federal budget lines for the Lagos–Ogun rail extension, federal agro-processing zones, and tourism development. He will speak with authority in Abuja because presidents, governors and investors already listen when Dapo Abiodun talks.
In 2027, Ogun East must choose between recycled drama and guaranteed progress.
The only sensible vote is Governor Dapo Abiodun for Senate.
Let us retire Senator Gbenga Daniel with the respect of yesterday and embrace the future with the man who is already building it today.
