Media Chats with President Bola Tinubu: The Case Against Rufai Oseni — Emotions Over Ethics in Journalism

At yesterday's Arise TV Morning Show, Rufai Oseni proved that he’s not qualified to be a journalist but rather an activist. As a professional journalist, the main ethic of journalism is to remain neutral and never be biased; however, this is not the case for Rufai, who often allows his emotions to control him. Rufai Oseni lacks emotional intelligence, which is why he doesn’t show respect for any of his guests on Arise TV. At this point, I would advise Rufai to quit journalism and join Omoyele Sowore. He would excel as an activist more than as a "journallithug." If it weren't for Rufai Oseni's disdain for the President, how could he claim that Mr. President didn’t perform well despite answering every question posed by the media chat group?


However, Rufai Oseni claims that he has not seen any progress in this current administration. Here are a few achievements of this administration within 18 months of being in office:


1. No more ASUU strikes

2. Student loan program

3. Reduced activities of Boko Haram, herdsmen, and bandits

4. Local government autonomy

5. Removal of fuel subsidies; no more queues at fuel stations

6. Tax Reform Bill; taxing the wealthy for the prosperity of our nation


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has performed significantly better than previous Presidents and is ready to lead Nigeria toward prosperity.


Rufai Oseni should refrain from attacking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, or else we will continue to respond. If he goes lower with Mr. President, we’ll respond in kind. Yes, criticism is part of politics and governance, but let’s criticize based on facts rather than emotions. ire ooooo!
