Those noise makers will not condemn the shenanigans that Gov. Fubara is orchestrating in Rivers State because he’s not Wike. This is a joke taken too far, and it represents a significant blow to Nigeria's 1999 Constitution. Section 96(1) of the Constitution clearly states: 'The quorum of a House of Assembly shall be one-third of all the members of the House.' Yet, here we have Governor Fubara presenting the 2025 appropriations bill to just 3 out of 31 House of Assembly members.
This scenario underscores a deeper malaise within our political system, where the values of accountability and representation are sacrificed for personal ambitions. It highlights the ongoing struggle against a culture of impunity that has plagued our leadership. As citizens of Nigeria, we must rise to the occasion and demand a return to the principles of good governance, where elected officials respect the Constitution and the democratic process. If we allow such flagrant disregard for our laws to continue, we risk perpetuating a cycle of misrule that stifles our nation's potential and disenfranchises the very people we are meant to serve.
